Nina Jinjoo Pin For Charity

A collaboration which was brought to life with artist Nina Jinjoo. Nina is an illustrator based in Brooklyn. Her art is inspired by her Korean upbringing and the everyday lifestyle of NY. This pin is 1.25" with rubber clasp closure, all proceeds from the sales of this pin will be donated to charity.

"Being quiet and compliant has been a survival tactic for a lot of us, especially within the Asian American community. This must change. The role that Asian Americans play in this nation's deep racial divide can be confusing and frustrating, however now is not the time to remain silent. This is why I initially illustrated my version of a tiger and a panther to represent Asian solidarity with BLM ; a reminder that we are here to reject this narrative of being a “model minority” and stand in solidarity. We must unlearn our racial biases, educate, and grow. We must become better allies because Black lives matter yesterday, today, and everyday.

This illustration was initially used for a t-shirt design with proceeds donated to BLM organizations. Now I've created pins in collaboration with @Pindrop with the same intentions.

I’m happy to share that all of the proceeds will be going to Color of Change, an organization that supports ground work/policy change, and The California Community Foundation to support immediate disaster relief and long-term recovery efforts for those affected by the California wildfires."
